The God given mission
Many people see the issues in the world today as being between good and evil. I disagree. Define evil. Define good. For sure your definition of evil isn't going to be the same as my definition of evil. But I think we can both agree (hopefully) that evil starts when you have someone in a position of power or a hierarchy who claims that "God spoke to me" or that they have a God-given mission. Throughout human history this is where things start turning ugly and is a primary source of cruelty, bigotry, inhumanity and what we regard as evil between people.
This is pretty much where every single issue human beings experience starts out, when someone in a position of power or authority claims to have a God-given mission or is doing 'God's work'. This has been the case throughout human history and this is the start of human cruelty, intolerance, bigotry and ignorance towards other human beings starts. I offer as a clear example the City or Corporation of London, a collective of people who are driven by the sole purpose of generating corporate profit however which way they can totally oblivious to the widespread deaths, human suffering, poverty and destitution they cause not just within the United Kingdom but throughout the whole planet. Consider the inscription on the coat of arms.
Domine nos dirige
This is Latin for 'Lord, guide us.' We stress here that not every bank or corporation is evil, because that would be a gross generalization. But hidden within that square mile in the centre of London - and I know this for a fact - are very powerful hierarchies who practise the dark arts and black magic. Having studied magic on and off since my late teens the first principle of magic is that whatever energy you coopt into your creative will comes back to you. Black magic is a corruption of the primary principle of magic and is based on the cause of suffering and harm to others as a means of concentration of power. The illusion here lies within the concentration of power in the individual, and it is an illusion. Power lies in the totality, not in the individual. Therefore anything evil can be negated by recognizing it as evil and disbelieving its illusory power.
The most destructive of all addictions
Out of all the addictions you can develop by far the most destructive and powerful are the addictions to money and the sense of your own missionary self-importance. No other addiction to anything else comes close. You can be addicted to cocaine, heroin, alcohol, nicotine, sex, pornography, shopping, food, and just like every other addiction being addicted to any of these things will destroy your brain, distort your way of thinking, destroy your relationships and connections to other people, destroy your physical health, but nowhere near on the same level as an addiction to money and your own Ego.
What sets these two addictions apart is that you can be addicted to any of the above and still retain your humanity yet the addiction to money and your own Ego can quickly cause you to sacrifice completely your sense of humanity, your sense of social or community responsibility, and transform you into a sociopathic serial killer. What is more you can today justify killing large numbers of people with your addiction to your own missionary sense of importance and naked desire for money and most people out there in society, hypocrites that they are, will support you or be forced to simply because God and money are the two most powerful cultural myths there are on the planet and nowhere enough people value humanity or community higher than they value money and their own Egos.
