Insights is an intermediate section between the shorter 'initial' blog posts and Qultura methodology.
Here are six mystical insights about six areas of life which affect all of us.

The vast majority of people are not even aware of their need to conform. They live under the illusion that they are free, that they have freedom of choice, that they follow their own ideas, make their own choices, and that they are individuals. They think that they have arrived at their own opinions and beliefs as the result of their own thinking, and that they understand everything there is to understand about reality.

Please don't get me wrong. If you are in any way aware of such things as intelligence, creativity, genius, love, humanity, courage, compassion, kindness, and so on then it's only because you have seen examples of these things in other people.

Neil de Grasse Tyson quote

When ignorance is reality, insight becomes a necessity

I've been working on Qultura in some shape or form since around the autumn of 1996. I had a brief spell of working as an English teacher in a Waldorf primary school in Warsaw when I was first introduced to the works and philosophy of Rudolf Steiner. It blew my mind. I share the same views as Neil de Grasse Tyson above, one of my Facebook friends, a well known American astrophysicist.

I've spent a lot of my time in life being around people most people would cross the street to avoid - people with mental health issues, people who struggle with addictions, people who are destitute and homeless, sleeping on the street. I have been destitute and homeless myself which is how I ended up living in Nine Elms. People talk about good and evil as if they are two completely different things but they're not. I'm not sure how you define evil but personally I define evil as a kind of purposeful, malicious ignorance. You can easily become maliciously ignorant by clinging to the past and steadfastly refusing to look past the limitations of whatever ideology or belief system you're using as a crutch to get you through life.

Ignorance is the source of both abuse and addiction. Ignorance is a lack of conscious awareness which manifests as a lack of environmental awareness. We human beings, collectively, suffer from a chronic lack or deficit of conscious awareness. Far too many of us are disconnected from our environmental reality and living in a world of illusions. A world of make believe. As a result we are abusive to the planet and our natural environment. All too often we are abusive to each other, and quite often we are abusive to ourselves.

Make of that what you will.

While I am aware of such issues as climate change and a growing number of environmental, social and economic issues I steadfastly refuse to start throwing my hands up in the air, jumping up and down, and yelling "We are doomed!". We humans have a lot going for us. I've met a lot of people in my life, I know quite a lot of people in my community and I'm of the firm belief that you can grab hold of any one of my 6,000 or so neighbours, push them up against the wall, scratch the surface, and beneath the superficial layer of Ego you will find their humanity and an interesting story and perspective on life.

Therefore I've created this section largely as an act of faith. I believe that the way forward is coming together as a community, the sharing of insights, stories, experiences, and random disconnected thoughts and feelings. Here I'm starting the ball rolling with six mystical insights. Some are quite long, because I'm writing about the unspeakable. You might want to grab a tea or a coffee and put on some pleasant music, find a comfortable place. What I'm sharing here is insight, and what I'm interested in is more insight, ideally your insight.

Maybe we can meet somewhere in the middle?
