Reading a book is a great way to develop empathy.
The ROSE Community Library is the first completed Qultura Core community project and our most popular project. Created and managed by Charmaine Bourton a retired librarian and situated at the ROSE Community Centre our community library offers a selection of hundreds of different books in different genres for all ages.
No sign up or membership required. No due dates, and no library fines. If you see a book you like and want to read it, simply pick it up off the shelf and take it home, then bring it back once you're done so someone else can read it.
We need a couple of volunteers who live close to the ROSE Community Centre to pop in once a week just to help keep the books in order and neat. It's an easy task which with a couple of people should take an hour or less. You can do this any day at any time by arrangement and grab yourself a tea or coffee while you arrange the books in order. You can do this with a friend or find someone from the community.
We will need volunteers from September or October 2020 when the ROSE Community Centre reopens.
